GMB EMS.ME.1508 - Cold Rolled Carbon Steel Sheets, Coated or Uncoated, for Drawing

Scope:
This specification establishes the demanded conditions to order, manufacture and supply cold rolled carbon steel sheets for drawing, with thicknesses between 0.50 and 3.00 mm inclusive, and widths equal to or greater than 600 mm, coated and uncoated, with the purpose of manufacturing of parts for vehicle bodies. This specification also includes inspection and tests for approval or rejection of incoming lots of blanks or coils.

In case of disagreement between the chemical analysis carried out by the supplier and the purchaser, the following test methods shall be adopted to clarify the divergences :


  • ISO 1460:92 - Metallic coatings - Hot dip galvanized coatings on ferrous materials - Gravimetric determination of the mass per unit area.
  • ISO 4934:80 - Steel and Iron- Determination of Sulfur content-gravimetricmethod.
  • ISO 9566:89 - Steel and Iron - Determination of total Carbon content - infrared absorption method after n induction furnace.
  • ISO 10280 : 91 - Steel and Iron - Determination of Titanium content - diantipyrylmethane spectrometric method.
  • ISO 1460:92 - Metallic coatings - Hot dip galvanized coatings on ferrous materials - Gravimetric determination of the mass per unit area.

For carrying out the mechanical tests the following test methods are adopted:


  • GMB LTP.ME.050 -- Tensile test at ambient temperature - Metallic materials.
  • GMB LTP.ME.024 - Determination of plastic strain ratio - Metallic materials - sheet and strip.
  • GMB LTP.ME.025 - Determination of tensile strain hardening exponent - Sheet and strip - Metallic materials.
  • ISO 8490:86 - Metallic materials - sheet and strip - modified Erichsen cupping test.
