Title
THERMOPLASTIC ELASTOMER, TYPE SEBS, 30 SHORE A
Holden Limited
Publication Date:
Feb 1, 2004
Scope:
1. SCOPE This specification covers a Styrenic thermoplastic elastomer of the SEBS (StyreneEthylene-Butylene-Styrene block copolymer) type containing 1% active slip agent. The material is supplied in a form suitable for injection moulding and the colour is off-white (colourable). The slip agent shall be added by blending 5% w/w of a 20% w/w masterbatch of fatty acid amides in a suitable, compatible thermoplastic elastomer. The intended application for this material is for flexible boots / bellows where a very soft material with no specific oil resistance is required; for example as gear-lever boots. It should be borne in mind that this material has relatively low strength properties and has not been compounded for enhanced UV resistance. It is suitable for an operating temperature range of at least -40 ºC to +70 ºC.
