GMNA GM9077P Document Information:
Title
Glass Content of Glass Reinforced Plastics
General Motors North America
Publication Date:
Jan 1, 1988
Scope:
This test provides a simple means for determining the glass content of
glass fiber reinforced
plastics on a weight basis.
NOTE: Since accuracy of the test is adversely affected by the presence
of glass particles which may
pass a 60 mesh screen, and of fillers which are not acid soluble, the
test is applicable only where
the plastic is known to contain no such materials or where the
accuracy desired permits the amount
of these materials to be estimated or disregarded.
