C SCOPE
This Standard is based on BS 1224 with some deviations considered necessary to meet the particular requirements of Jaguar Cars Ltd. Although coating system and thickness requirements are a necessary part of the Standard, particular importance is placed on the ability of the finished component to meet the mandatory performance requirements. Attention is drawn to BS 4479 concerning the design of articles to be electroplated. This Standard does not define the surface condition of the base metal prior to the plating process. NOTE:- The requirements for decorative electrodeposited copper - nickel - chromium coatings on plastics are detailed in Material Standard JMS 10.11.02.
