Scope:
B SCOPE 1 The corrosion of uncoated ferrous structures can be controlled by the use of zinc as a galvanic anode in a cathodic protection system. Accordingly, zinc foil gasket materials may be applied to motor vehicles at the BIW stage with the intention of providing sacrificial corrosion protection to ferrous interfaces which are inaccessible to paint.
