Scope:

1. SCOPE

This standard covers metric hexagonal (Type E) and square (Type F) contoured piloted projection weld nuts intended for resistance welding in applications where positive positioning of the nuts through insertion of the pilot feature into preformed holes in the panel or part prior to welding is desirable. The pilot also serves to minimize the splatter of molten metal into the nut threads during the welding operation.
