Scope:
1. SCOPE
This specification covers the requirements of molded foam trim parts not used for "functional seating" applications. This shall include such foam items as headrests, armrests, padded moldings, foamed door and quarter panels, seat back panels, console assemblies, child seat cushions, etc. The foam required under this specification ranges from a flexible to a semi-rigid open cell foam. The particular type is governed by the hardness desired in the finished part. Parts must be of uniform hardness, free from unblown resin areas, and shall not cause skin irritation or have an offensive odor. Material may be foamed into a plastisol or vacuum formed skin, foamed and subsequently trimmed, or may be of a self skinning type foam.
