Scope:

This specification covers the requirements for low carbon and structural quality steel sheet and strip. This specification is designed for global usage with a list of comparable industry standards available in Appendix A.

The specification number shown in the title is a generic number for low carbon and structural quality steel sheet and strip. Table 1 defines the chemical requirements for the two grades of steel classified in this specification. Tables 2A and 2B list the specification numbers to be used on component drawings and reflect the specific requirements for the material.
