Scope:
This standard covers the straight rubber hoses with an intermediate reinforcement layer, primarily used as the main fuel passage of gasoline- and diesel-powered vehicles (hereinafter referred to as “hose”).
Remarks:
1. This standard does not apply to the hoses used with alcohol and alcoholic fuel.
2. Non-reinforced rubber hoses used as passages other than the main fuel passage, such as an evaporative-control system, shall be covered by ISD-V01-004 C(Evapo. and vacuum hoses)
3. If curved hoses, stepped hoses or hoses with joint fittings are required, they shall conform to their drawings and specifications. However, their essential characteristic items including rubber materials, hose performance and inside and outside diameters of hose, etc. should be preferably in accordance with this standard.
4. Type 2 in this version (ISD-V01-001C) is subdivided into Type 2A, 2B and 2C, and the hoses of Type 2 (*1) of the old version (ISD-V-01-001A or ISD-V-01-001B) are classified as Type 2A in ISD-V-01-001C (*1).
Type 4 in this version (ISD-V01-001C) is subdivided into only 1 category Types 4B, and the hoses which have been designated as Type 4(*2) of ISD-V01-001A or ISD-V-01-001B in drawings and specifications are classified as Type 4B in ISD-V01-001C.
5. A designer should, wherever possible, select materials in accordance with the priority rule shown in Table 1 in prospect of future material commonization.
6. The standard for “quantity ceiling set parts” corresponding to this standard is IST-S016-002 (HOSE; FUEL STRAIGHT).
7. In this standard, the units and numeral values are in accordance with International System of Units (SI), and those enclosed in braces ({ }) are in accordance with the conventional system of units, appended for reference.
