These products are highly filled water based acrylic latex emulsions. When dried, they become resilient, tightly adhered, non-curing sealing films for tapered or straight threads. PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene) is suspended in the film for thread lubrication and torque/tension control. The product is applied to the fastener in a band completely surrounding the desired threads. Drying of the film must immediately follow the coating application, in 65 -70 C ovens with high air flow, to ensure desired film integrity.
