Scope:
1. SCOPE
This standard covering Type TFN Break Mandrel Blind Rivets conforms in all essentials with the industry standards for these parts. These rivets are pull mandrel design blind rivets where, during the setting operation, the shaped mandrel is drawn into and/or against the rivet body to fill the installation hole and form three folded wings on the blind side and then breaks off at or near the junction of the mandrel shank and its upset end. The grip range for respective size-length combination Type TFN rivets is relatively long. They are intended for general use in making permanent type attachments in nonstructural applications, joining combinations of thin, brittle, or soft materials. The inch series rivets documented herein are also considered appropriate at this time for use in metric designs.
