Scope:

1. SCOPE

The Metric Type AHS (High Stress) Self-Piercing Nuts covered by this standard are intended for use in applications requiring permanently pre-installed internal multi-thread fasteners in sheet metal components where strength capabilities exceeding those provided by corresponding Type AH self-piercing nuts is necessary or where it is essential to obtain a flush mounting surface without employing an embossment. See the typical Type AHS Nut installations depicted in Figure 1.
