1. SCOPE

This standard for Metric Hex Washer Head Tapping Screws of thread forming Types AB and B and thread cutting Types BF and BT conforms in all essentials, other than head proportions, with the American National Standard covering metric tapping screws. The basic head dimensions agree with those included in earlier national standard proposals for the hex washer head and since replaced therein by the hex flange head.
