SCOPE

1 This standard covering Metric Hex Nuts conforms in all essentials with the American National Standards, ANSI B18.2.4.1M - Metric Hex Nuts, style 1, and ANSI B18.2.4.2M - Metric Hex Nuts, Style 2. It recognizes the M10 sizes with a 15.00 mm hexagon width across flats which differ from the ISO standard M10 sizes having a 16.00mm hexagon width. However, nuts of all sizes produced to this standard are considered to be functionally interchangeable with nuts conforming to the ISO 4032 and ISO 4033 standards for Style 1 and Style 2 hex nuts, respectively, and they shall be specified where required for all new metric designs.
