Scope:

This specification defines the process and requirements a coating manufacturer/applicator must meet to qualify a coating system or process for Delphi components. The intent of this specification is to substantiate the capability of a coating manufacturer/applicator to produce and supply a uniform and consistent coating system. Technical approval by the Delphi Finish Committee is required before a new coating system or process can be supplied to Delphi or applied to Delphi components.

This specification does not apply to coating systems internal to Delphi manufacturing facilities. Qualification of Delphi coating systems is managed by the PPAP process.
