Scope:
This standard covers the method of measuring the proportions of
pearlite, ferrite and carbide in
the matrix which affect the mechanical properties and the wear
resistance of cast irons including
gray, spheroidal graphite and malleable cast irons. This standard
shall apply to the parts made of
cast iron, in the drawings of which matrix structure is specified.
