Scope:

1. SCOPE

This standard covering Metric Hex Jam Nuts conforms in all essentials with the American National Standard, ANSI B18.2.4.5M-Metric Hex Jam Nuts. It recognizes the M10 size with 15.00mm hexagon width across flats which differ s from the ISO Standard M10 size having a 16.00mm hexagon width. However, nuts of all sizes produced to this standard are considered to be functionally interchangeable with nuts conforming to ISO 4035 Standard for thin hex nuts and they shall be specified for all new metric designs where jam nuts are required.
