1. This specification covers the requirements for hot and cold rolled low carbon steel sheet used for parts that are case hardened after fabrication. The steel is specially stabilized to minimize grain coarsening in cold worked areas of the parts during heat treatment and has low hardenability to produce parts with ductile core properties.
