Scope:
1. SCOPE
This specification covers oil resistant thermoplastic elastomers of the TPV (Thermoplastic Vulcanizate) type to ASTM D5538. They consist of vulcanised (crosslinked) NBR rubber particles (circa 1 micron) dispersed in a polypropylene continuous phase. The material is supplied in compounded form suitable for injection moulding, extrusion and blow moulding operations where parts having good oil and petrol resistance, good flexibility and a high degree of weathering resistance are required.
