This specification describes a two component silicone based sealant. The mixed sealant must be lump free, cure to a rubbery consistency and be suitable for bonding glass to chromated aluminium. It must also adhere to various paint surfaces such as acrylic top coats, alkyd primers, epoxy primers and chassis enamel. It must also adhere to plastic surfaces such as ABS, ASA and polyphenylene oxide without use of primers. It must retain its bonding properties during extended outdoor weathering and be resistant to engine compartment temperatures. The material described exhibits adhesion to a wider range of surfaces than the materials described in HN 1959.
