Scope:
This specification describes the requirements for high density
cellular polyurethane materials with
low compression set characteristics to be used as gaskets for
vibration damping and vibration and
shock isolation. The material may be low modulus (soft) to high
modulus (firm). This material is
intended for use in applications with operating temperatures below
122°C. It is not intended
for use in applications which require water sealability.
Flexible expanded cellular rubber materials shall be covered in
DX200500.
Certain applications may require the use of an adhesive. If an
adhesive is required, an A suffix
shall be added after the basic specification and type designation.
Maximum allowable shrinkage of the urethane material must be
determined by the appropriate
engineering department and indicated on the engineering drawing.
