B SCOPE 1 This Standard defines the requirements for both hot dip and mechanically galvanised coatings on iron and steel components. It does not apply to precoated steel sheet and strip (see BS 2989), galvanised wire (see JMS 10.22.04 and see also BS 443) or tubes which are subsequently fabricated.
