Scope:

This specification covers the performance requirements of integrally colored plastic parts used in exterior automotive applications. The parts may be functional within themselves or they may be a subassembly of, or attached to, metallic, decorative or functional parts.

Requirements for painted parts should be specified per GM4497M, not by this specification.

Parts that require gasoline resistance will be designated by suffix G.
