Scope:
Material Description. Fabrics covered by this
specification are made from fibrous textile materials that are
knit, woven, non-woven, or nonconventional in structure. This
specification also covers laminated fabric constructions.
For requirements for vehicles without solar absorbing glass,
contact the appropriate Materials Engineer. All interior materials
are developed to be used in vehicles with solar glass, therefore
performance may be compromised if used in nonsolar glass
vehicles
Symbols. This code defines the material
construction and will be assigned by the responsible
department.
Typical Applications. This specification
describes aesthetic fabrics used for interior trim applications
such as seat covers, door trim panels, overhead trim (headliner,
visor, sunshade), pillar coverings, windlace fabrics, rear window
trim (excluding carpet) and other applications.
Unless otherwise specified, the requirements for windlace
fabrics are the same as those for headliner fabrics,
