Scope:

A SCOPE

This Standard gives details of a method by which hue, chroma and lightness (see E. 1) may be measured to help ensure that the colour of body coloured painted components matches that of painted bodies. This Standard will normally apply to components such as :-· Headlamp bezels/ lamp housings · Bumper covers · Spoilers · Other components required to match the vehicle body colour Note 1: Body colour will also be assessed by the same test method and colour will be expected to meet the same tolerance bands. Colour shift and lightness tolerances for all current colours are given in Appendices to this Standard. Note 2: This Standard is an interim issue: once adequate data is available, the intention is to change to a CMC tolerancing system using a suitable machine (the CR- 331 is inadequate).
