B SCOPE 1 This Standard covers grades of high strength pearlitic nodular iron based on grades within BS 2789 except that mechanical properties are determined on test pieces cut from castings at positions specified by the purchaser for castings supplied in as-cast condition. It is intended for use in the manufacture of high duty crankshafts and other highly stressed components.
