The Joint Committee on National Transportation Communications for Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) Protocol (NTCIP) accepted NTCIP 8005 - Procedures for Creating Management Information Base (MIB) Files and a Functional Area Data Dictionary (FADD) as a user comment draft standard.
The standard publication is in the 8000-series of the NTCIP process, control and information management policy documents.
The American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials (AASHTO), Institute of Transportation Engineers (ITE) and the National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA) are distributing copies to their members to solicit user comments.
NTCIP 8005 defines how to convert MIB definitions into an MIB module and how to import the MIB modules into an NTCIP FADD.
The FADD is the combined total of the NTCIP MIB data files.
