MMS - Minerals Management Service


The Minerals Management Service (MMS) References Collection includes all rules and regulations from the MMS, Department of the Interior, (30 CFR 250 through 30 CFR 282) and the industry standards incorporated by reference (including: API, ASTM, ASME, AWS and NACE). All references in the MMS rules and regulations are hot-linked for instant full-text access to the document.


MMS Collections:

The Outer Continental Shelf (OCS) Lands Act gives MMS the responsibility of permitting and inspecting offshore oil and gas operations including:

  • exploration/development/production plans
  • pollution prevention and control
  • oil and gas drilling operations
  • oil and gas well-completion operations
  • oil and gas well-workover operations
  • abandonment of wells
  • oil and gas production safety systems
  • floating and stationary platforms and structures
  • pipelines and pipeline rights-of-way
  • oil and gas production rates
  • oil and gas production measurement, surface commingling and security
  • sulphur operations

With increased enforcement actions by MMS, engineers, compliance personnel and regulatory management personnel are using the MMS References Collection from IHS to ensure compliance. The MMS References Collection is available online with daily updates of all Title 30 "final rules" published in the Federal Register.

Online Access - Subscribers get secure online access to search, view, bookmark, track, and print documents according to the license agreement. Online documents are updated daily.
